Swan Group is on the Commonwealth Bank Retail and Commercial Tender panels for Western Australia, offering complete turnkey solutions in the refurbishment of their bank branches and other commercial projects. This covers full Project Management over the following four phases of a project: Feasibility - Design - Tender – Construction.
The CBA South Perth bank branch refurbishment was done out of need to change the functionality of the bank from a ‘Full service’ branch to an ‘Express Ribbon’ branch. This involved reducing its current footprint by half, while keeping the bank operating at all times.
It was the first CBA branch to be downsized from a ‘full service’ branch to an ‘Express Ribbon’ branch, which presented a lot of unforeseeable challenges both for the construction team and also for the client’s functionality and operations. The project had to be staged, with the main bulk of the works done over the weekends and after hours. The main challenge with this project was to get the branch back to an operational state after every stage.
The obstacles were overcome by being resolution orientated and being able to make the necessary changes as the project moved along. The experienced construction team kept the project moving, with daily site visits from the project team and frequent teleconferences with key stakeholders around Australia.
