QV1 Lobby Refurbishment
The QV1 Lobby transformation offers a stunning and thriving communal hub, a truly unique open air space, perfectly suited for collaboration where tenants and visitors can come together in one of Perth’s most prestigious buildings.
The project involved the installation of curved ribbon joinery planters and movable mesh curtains along with the incorporation of bespoke high-end finishes, internationally sourced furnishings and showcase lighting features.
The QV1 Lobby was a highly complex project due to the intricacies of the high-end internal finishes requiring the highest level of interior fitout quality all delivered within a high-rise premium building.
The main planter box ribbons, featured throughout had to be carefully designed, considering several factors, such as the materials used, ratios of curvature desired, structural integrity (particularly to prevent the polished plaster surface from cracking), and water proofing to the planter boxes.
Swan proposed moving away from the use of steel materials, instead suggesting a natural timber, giving more flexibility to achieve the projects distinctive curves and in turn allowing for the successful application of the Cosmofin water proofing membrane, a high quality and flexible PVC.
