SAE Institute Perth Fitout
SAE is a leading educator in animation, audio, design, film and web & mobile attracting students from around the world to study a range of higher education courses. Swan Group was tasked with the challenge to transform 116/120 Roe Street into a state-of-the-art facility to expand the Institute’s existing facilities by 70%. The building had once been home to an ice cream factory but remained unused in recent years.
A considerable amount of construction works went into the space prior to the final fitout to create the numerous recording studios, control rooms, computer labs and lecture theatres all with full acoustic protection. Features of the project include:
- Acoustically sealed recording studios and editing suites make up the central core of the building as well as a cyclorama room for filming;
- Rooms built around the base building structure without touching at any point for acoustic separation;
- The new lecture theatre holds the air conditioning plant under the sloping floor with floor vents feeding the room from below;
- Offices, administrative areas and classrooms fitted out to high-end commercial specification.
