A tired lecture theatre at Edith Cowan University’s Mt Lawley Campus was in need of a facelift, and Swan Group was awarded the contract to deliver the refurbishment.
Works involved the construction of a new curved acoustic lobby at the entrance to the lecture theatre, inclined suspended ceiling, services upgrade, floor coverings and eco glow stair nosing throughout. The majority of the works were completed from scaffolding in the available floor space. All the products, materials and services required acoustic rating, and this included complex and detailed autex panelling to the front of the theatre to create a repeated cube effect.
The majority of the works were completed over the Christmas period to minimise disruption during university semesters, and handed over on time and ready for the first lecture of 2015.
